Set aside time daily…. Take a breather!

Family lives have changed drastically during the lockdown situation. Now people are finding more time to spend with each other, understand better, play together, perform activities, prepare yummy dishes & so on. But the most important activity that both parents & kids should do together is ‘Yoga & Exercise’. As parents are kids first teachers & role models, children learn faster & better and also contribute to their children’s personal growth & development.

Being home, sometimes we do not really give importance to ourselves. This is the best time to encourage ourselves and family to do so in order to keep everyone fit & healthy while being confined at home. Having a young & an active  child at home, it is essential to keep them away from being irritated and restless. Hence, dedicating atleast 15-20 mins daily for yoga & exercise can help kids to be cool, healthy and maintain a fit body.

To make kids enjoy yoga, one can use creative ways like different poses, music, sounds, through yoga story books & so on.

Few yoga poses include-

Bow Pose ( Dhanurasana)

Corpse Pose ( Savasana)

Bridge Pose ( Setu Bandha Sarvangasana)

Tree Pose (Vrikshasana)

Chair Pose ( Utkatasana)

Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana)

Cat Pose ( Marjaryasana)

Butterfly pose ( Baddha Konasana)

Performing yoga will help kids-
☘Boost immunity
☘Keeps mind fresh
☘Promote healthy body
☘Improve flexibility
☘Helps to relax & calm
🍂Sleep better
🍂Manage emotions
🍂Balance & coordination
🍂Build a fun time with family
🍂Keep kids active

My daughter has become my yoga partner these days, I call her my trainer. We have fixed a time in the day and it’s become so habitual that if we do not exercise that day due to any reason we feel have missed something or the day is incomplete. It’s great fun to perform exercise & yoga together.

Let’s be fit & healthy when home.
